School Nurse (RN)

A recognized services organization in New York is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their schools in Orange County as their new School Nurse.

Responsibilities:

• Provide evaluations and diagnoses for each student
• Provide therapeutic intervention as needed
• Arrange medical services for persons served and issues medical referrals as needed
• Provide follow-up on medical recommendations and prescriptions for persons served
• Handle control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment
• Provide immediate first aid and referral to Outside Emergency Services and/or Private Physician
• Prepare and maintain medical documentation on each person served as needed
• Perform other related duties as requested

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of Nursing experience in the delivery of Community-based Health Services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
• Patient oriented
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
